The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. Celebrates New Herberger's in Minneapolis Market

~Grand Opening at Southdale Center on November 9~

YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: BONT) celebrates the opening of its new Herberger's store at the Southdale Center in Edina, Minnesota on November 9, its sixth store in the Minneapolis market. The tri-level, 135,000 square-foot location has been completely renovated and redesigned to create a state-of-the-art shopping environment. The Grand Opening of Herberger's will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. with special guest speaker, James Hovland Mayor of Edina, who will kick-off the festivities.

Herberger's at Southdale Center is a unique store for the Twin Cities market because of its design features, floor plan and merchandise assortment. The new store will offer a shopper-friendly environment with an open-floor plan, the newest energy-saving lighting technology, shopping carts and spacious fitting rooms with seating areas. Self-serve kiosks will be located on each level of the store with complete web access to www.herbergers.com for customers to browse or shop online with complimentary standard shipping.

Catering to the fashion-conscious consumer, the store will have the largest shoe and fine jewelry departments in the market, as well as the "One Philosophy" shop, dedicated to contemporary sportswear and accessories. An expanded assortment and depth of brands will be noticeably different from any other Herberger's store. A custom-designed Coach handbag shop, along with Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren handbag shops, has been installed, as well as one of only three EMU Australia shops in the country that will carry an exclusive assortment of footwear, outerwear and cold weather goods. Exclusive brands include the Company's own Victor by Victor Alfaro, Laura Ashley and Ruff Hewn in missy apparel and John Bartlett Consensus and Statements and Ruff Hewn in men's.

To celebrate the opening, the first 1,000 customers in the store will receive a complimentary gift. All cosmetics brands, including Estée Lauder, Clinique and Lancôme will offer complimentary make-overs and special gifts for the grand opening. National Lancôme make-up artist Alex Sanchez will be on hand for personal beauty sessions. Face painting, balloon animals and appearances by popular costume characters will take place in the Children's department. Following the opening day celebration will be 14 days of festivities and events including a contemporary sportswear fashion show, Effy fine jewelry trunk show, shoe shopping event, appearance by menswear designer John Bartlett, intimate fit clinics, contest drawings and more!
